[VO NARRATOR]
  • There are a variety of resources that can be used on test day. This video will show how to use the global notes. During testing, this tool can be used to take notes on any of the questions or passages you may be working on during the English language arts performance task. This is what the global notes will look like once you have followed these next steps.
[GRAPHICS]
  • A notepad window appears in the center of the screen. There is a large blank space for text and two buttons at the bottom of the window labeled [Cancel] and [Save and Close].
  • The notepad window disappears.
[VO NARRATOR]
  • To access the global notes, select the [Notes] button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. As you can see, a notepad will then appear in the center of the screen. [GRAPHICS]
  • The cursor moves to the upper-right corner of the screen and selects the [Notes] button, which is to the left of the [Zoom In] and [Zoom Out] buttons.
  • The notepad window appears in the center of the screen.
[VO NARRATOR]
  • If you don't like where the notepad is, you can use your device to drag the notepad to a different part of the screen.
[GRAPHICS]
  • The cursor selects the top of the notepad window and drags it to the left side of the screen.
[VO NARRATOR]
  • When you select the notepad, a cursor will appear and you can start taking notes. If you select [Save and Close], you will be able to use the notes you took throughout the whole performance task, even if a break of more than 20 minutes is taken. When you are done with the notepad and do not want to save your notes for later, select the [Cancel] button. Note that different devices may require different actions in order to make these selections. Thanks for watching.
