  • There are a variety of resources that can be used on test day. This video will show how to use the highlighter. During testing, this tool can be used to highlight words or sentences that you want to remember in order to answer questions.
[GRAPHICS]
  • The section of the passage under the cursor is highlighted yellow. The cursor moves up and to the right so the text is fully visible.
[VO NARRATOR]
  • This is what highlighted text will look like once you have followed these next steps. Select the word or sentence you want to remember by using the mouse or trackpad, depending on the type of device you are using.
[GRAPHICS]
  • The screen zooms in on the highlighted passage as the yellow highlight fades away.
  • The mouse cursor moves to the beginning of the section, then is dragged across the text, highlighting all of it blue.
[VO NARRATOR]
  • You can highlight the text in two ways. With your mouse on the text, select the right mouse button and then Highlight Selection, or select the highlight option from the context menu.
[GRAPHICS]
  • With the cursor hovering over the blue highlighted section, the right mouse button is selected and a box appears next to it that contains an image of a highlighter drawing a line and the text Highlight Selection.
  • The cursor then moves to the upper right-hand corner of the passage and selects the context menu, which is a box containing three horizontal lines. The same Highlight Selection box appears under it.
  • The cursor selects the Highlight Selection box, and the selected text becomes highlighted yellow.
[VO NARRATOR]
  • The background of the text changes color. It is important to remember that highlighted text will no longer be highlighted if you pause or leave the test. To remove the highlighting, place the cursor anywhere in the highlighted text, select the right mouse button, and then Remove Highlight. You can also select Remove Highlight from the context menu.

  • The cursor hovers over the first sentence of the yellow highlighted section and highlights it blue, then selects the right mouse button.
  • Three boxes appear below: a Highlight Selection box with an image of a highlighter, a Remove Highlight button with an image of a highlighter next to an "X," and a Reset Highlighting box with an image of a highlighter next to a circular arrow. The cursor hovers over Remove Highlight.
  • The cursor moves to the upper-right corner of the passage and selects the context menu. The same three boxes appear below.

  • If you have selected more than one sentence or word, you can select Reset Highlighting within the sentence or Reset Highlighting from the context menu.

  • The cursor selects the Reset Highlighting box under the context menu, and the highlighting on the section of text disappears.
  • Two sections become highlighted yellow. The cursor moves down to one and selects the right mouse button, and the Reset Highlighting box appears below it.
  • The cursor moves to the upper-right corner of the passage and selects the context menu. The same Reset Highlighting box appears below it.
  • The cursor selects the Reset Highlighting box, and the highlighting on both sections of text disappears.
