Urgent Reminders
Monitor Testing
LEA CAASPP coordinators should use the Completion Status system and Completion Reports
in the Test Operations Management System (TOMS) to ensure students will be tested before the closing of the LEA's testing window. View the Test Completion Rates Reports
web page and the How to Monitor Test Completion
video for guidance.
Prepare for SSR Electronic Distribution
Collaborate with technology personnel to ensure that connections between the local student information system (SIS) and TOMS are active, which will result in Student Score Reports (SSRs) populating in the SIS for the correct students in a timely manner, as outlined on the SSR Options web page. Ensure that the reports are properly displayed, that parents and guardians can access the report, and that they can solely access scores for their own student. The SIS vendor credentials have a 365-day expiration rule. If needed, regenerate credentials for the SIS to securely connect to TOMS.

Ongoing Reminders
CAA for Science
LEAs are required to administer the 2021–22 CAA for Science to all eligible students by July 15, 2022, or the end of the LEA's instructional calendar, whichever comes first. A test examiner must administer all four embedded performance tasks, in any order, to a student one-on-one throughout the school year after the student has received related science instruction. All four CAA for Science embedded performance tasks must be administered to be considered complete. The federal requirement for meeting 95 percent participation applies. Please visit the CAAs web page for more information and resources.
Confirm User Access
After adding users, confirm that test security affidavits have been completed in TOMS. Test administrators and test examiners will not be able to administer tests until the affidavit is signed electronically. To download a list of users to confirm the status of the individual security agreements and security affidavits, please visit the Security Forms and Remote Administration Status Report web page for instructions.
CAA for ELA Second Scoring
LEAs and schools assigned to Form 5 are required to participate in second scoring for the CAA for ELA. Ensure second test examiners are scheduled to be present during the administration of the CAA for ELA to score student responses. For more information, view the Second Scoring Requirement for the CAA for ELA archived email.
Parent/Guardian Exemptions
Document Parent/Guardian exemption requests, and enter condition codes into TOMS as outlined in the Edit or Assign a Condition Code web page.
Student Remote Testing Video Permission
Students must have the remote test flag set to "Yes" to allow for communication and video monitoring during remote administration. These students will be presented with the Recording Device Check, the Sound and Video Playback Check, and the Text-to-Speech Sound Check prior to entering the test. Visit the Edit Remote Testing Video Permissions web page for more direction.
Remote administration is intended as an option for LEAs only when students are receiving remote instruction. Students receiving in-person instruction should be tested in person.
Troubleshoot Test Administration
Regularly communicate with, and respond to questions from, site coordinators to ensure that any issues are resolved promptly. A list of CAASPP-related frequently asked questions can be found on the CAASPP Frequently Asked Questions web page.
