CAASPP email update, November 1, 2022.
This communication includes information and updates about the CAASPP .
Setting Up Test Administration Windows
The deadline for setting up a 2022–23 CAASPP test administration window is December 1, 2022. LEAs must set up test administration windows in the Test Operations Management System (TOMS) . Schools within an LEA may have varying instructional dates, which means LEA coordinators may need to set up more than one test administration window and then assign each school accordingly. Up to six windows can be configured. Refer to the TOMS User Guide and the Setting Up Your Test Admin Window in TOMS video for more information.
November 1: CAA Form and Second Scoring Assignments
Form assignments for the 2022–23 California Alternate Assessments (CAAs) for English language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics administration are now available on the CAAs for ELA and Mathematics Form Assignments web page. There are two forms available for the CAAs for ELA and mathematics. A subsection of schools assigned to Form 2 for the CAAs for ELA and mathematics will be required to participate in second scoring. Visit the CAA for ELA Second Scoring Assignments web page for more details.
November 15: CAA for Science Results and SSRs
The LEA's CAASPP Student Score Data File will be updated to include CAA for Science results. Results will be released in TOMS and in the California Educator Reporting System (CERS) on November 15, 2022. CAA for Science Student Score Reports (SSRs) will be released on November 16, 2022. CAA Test Examiner Tutorial
Test examiners must complete the CAA Test Examiner Tutorial in the Moodle Training Site (Moodle) and receive a certificate of completion before administering the CAAs. Coordinators can monitor test examiner progress within Moodle. Coordinators received the Resources to Prepare for the 2022–23 California Alternate Assessments by email on July 25, 2022, with information about accessing and completing the course.
Since the CAA for Science testing window opened on September 6, 2022, LEAs are encouraged to begin preparing for and administering this assessment early. Each of the four embedded performance tasks are to be administered after students receive instruction on related science concepts. Please visit the CAAs web page for more information on certification and administration, and the Moodle Training Site Information web page for more information.
