Urgent Reminders
December 1: Setting Up Test Administration Windows
The deadline for setting up a 2022–23 CAASPP test administration window is December 1, 2022. LEAs must set up test administration windows in the Test Operations Management System (TOMS) . Schools within an LEA may have varying instructional dates, which means LEA coordinators may need to set up more than one test administration window and then assign each school accordingly. Up to six windows can be configured. Refer to the TOMS User Guide
and the Setting Up Your Test Admin Window in TOMS
video for more information.
CAAs for ELA and Mathematics Form Assignments Available
Form assignments are now available for the 2022–23 administration of the California Alternate Assessments (CAAs) for English language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics on the CAAs for ELA and Mathematics Form Assignments web page. Use this information to determine which form of the grade-level Directions for Administration to download for each student in TOMS . Some schools assigned to Form 2 will be required to second-score rubric-scored items for the CAA for ELA. To find schools assigned to second scoring, refer to the CAA for ELA Second Scoring Assignments web page.

Since the CAA for Science testing window opened on September 6, 2022, LEAs should have begun preparing for and administering this assessment. Each of the four embedded performance tasks are to be administered throughout the year and directly after students receive instruction on related science concepts.
