2019‒20 Interim Assessment Overview (Coming Soon!) This document provides a description of the interim assessments that include the types, features, and usage. For both English language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics, and by each grade, it provides an at-a-glance summary of the interim assessments that includes the focused Interim Assessment Blocks (IABs).
Interim Assessment Reporting System Sandbox external icon The reporting system sandbox is a training tool intended to help local educational agency (LEA) staff learn about the features and functions of the Interim Assessment Reporting System in a non-secure environment. It offers users virtually the same functions as the reporting system, but uses practice test items and fictitious student data.

Note: The best browsers to use for the Sandbox are Edge, Chrome, and Firefox. The Sandbox is not fully compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer and some screens will not display properly.
Smarter Balanced Training Tests, Practice Tests, and Interim Assessments At-a-Glance external icon This document provides a side-by-side comparison of training tests, practice tests, and interim assessments to help teachers decide which tool best fits their needs.
ICAs Table of Hand Scoring Items and Total Number of Questions Per Test external icon This document is intended to assist LEA CAASPP coordinators, site coordinators, and test administrators in planning for the administration and local hand scoring of the interim comprehensive assessments (ICA). The table provides key information, including the total number of items appearing on each ICA. This total includes items that are both machine-scored and hand-scored. Also included on this table are the number of items that require local hand scoring on the non-performance task constructed response, the performance task constructed response, and the performance task essay.
IABs Table of Hand Scoring Requirements by Subject and Grade external icon These tables are intended to assist LEAs in planning for the administration and local hand scoring of the IABs. Included in each table are the total number of items on each IAB. The total number of items shown includes both machine-scored and hand-scored items. Each table also provides the number of constructed response and essay items that require local hand scoring.
